More Kenny, SP12 Question #7 and Contest Wrap-Up

Just because I had so many responses from my previous Kenny stalking, I figured these photos may be of interest to a few of you.  This years tour was...

(yes, he wore Red Sox stuff ALL night! ;) )
This weekend was one of my favorite weekends of the year, Kenny weekend!  I've been going every year with a good friend for 3 years now.  This year Kenny had Gary Allan, LeAnn Rimes, Sammy Hagar, and new dad Keith Urban with him.
Here's LeAnn in a Brady Jersey
During Kenny's performance he even had some Patriot and Red Sox stars join him up on stage!   The concert was held at Gillette stadium in Foxboro, MA (for those of you who are not from the area, it's the home of the Patriots!)
If you look close, you can see Vinatieri and Wakefield in the group.
(sorry, gotta love random hands in photos.)

As always, it proved to be a great time.

SP12 Question #7:

What is (are) your favorite place(s) to knit? I knit everywhere. I am most comfortable on a comfortable couch somewhere.

What supplies (besides yarn & needles) make the setting perfect for knitting? I always keep my mini bamboo crochet hook, stitch markers, little scissors, and a yarn needle nearby.

I know, it was pretty sad that I didn't have these books already in my library.  Good thing I saw the emergency when I was logged on Amazon and  placed  some pre-orders and picked these up also!
I told you I've been knitting... nothing hugely significant, but crossing off on my to-do list nonetheless.
FO: Baby Genius Burp Cloth (Mason-Dixon Knitting)
FO: Secret Square (What this square was for is a secret.  It will be revealed ASAP.)
Another knit listed on my Summer Knitting to-do list completed!

SP12 Question #6

Questions #6
What is your favorite type of project to take along on holiday/vacation?
Anything portable!
Tell us about a time that you packed too much knitting or were stranded without knitting. I always pack plenty of knitting, just in case. Like most of you, I also fear being stranded without knitting.

Next Post: Proof of actual knitting!

It's the time...

to post my Belated First Blogoversary 101st post hybrid contest winners!
Dusty can't believe the contest is already over! (He also wanted some more photo sessions, but his mom was too busy with work.)
Myownigloo will be receiving the skein of Classic Elite's Wool Bam Boo.

Darcy over at Darcy's Knotty Knitter has won the skein of Nashua Handknit's Creative Focus brushed Alpaca. Stop on by Darcy's blog and take a look at the lovely Cable Needle necklaces that Leslie Wind has created! Awesome idea Leslie, they're beautiful!

Congrats to both winners! Please e-mail me your snail mail addresses. (See my sidebar.) Special thanks to everyone for entering and commenting on their favorite knitting or sewing project. I'll be posting a summary of everyone's entries shortly. Maybe they will inspire your next project!
A while back I mentioned that I had some more findings at my LYS and I'd post them later. We'll here they are...

Three skeins of Ultra Alpaca to make this felted bag.
I also picked up some buttons for baby bibs. I'll use the yellow one for the Bib O' Love that I finished. I intend make more baby gifts as part of the Summer Knitting Goals that I posted in June.

I'll be posting more WIP and FO pics soon... there has been *some* knitting

SP12 Question #5 and a Postcard

Quick, hurry, stop by this post and enter my contest before it closes! (Friday 7/11 at midnight!) Go ahead... I'll wait...

SP12 Question #5 1.) Where is your favorite place to go for vacation/holiday?
Kind of complicated answer. My favorite place to relax and rejuvenate is the Florida Keys, but my favorite place to go these days on vacation is to visit my brother and his family in Florida. I don't get to see them nearly enough. When I have the time to actually vacation I will have to squeeze in a Florida Keys trip, but for now I'm looking at a trip to Lakeland to babysit instead!
2.) Where is one place you'd like to go?
Internationally: I have always wanted to go to Australia. I would also love to go to Italy again.
U.S.: I've been interested in going out to Colorado or California or to take a trip to various stops out west. I've traveled all over the eastern part of the country (New England down to the southernmost point of the Keys) but I haven't seen much past PA.

I recently came across this cute postcard that my SP12 sent me while she was away and realized I hadn't blogged about it yet. I have actually been to Story Land in NH before (years ago)! Thanks for thinking of me SP12 spoiler, I hope you had a great time!

WIP: Baby Genius Burp cloth. Pathetic progress, but nonetheless, progress right?
WIP pic of mom's second mitt
Tonight was the first episode of Greatest American Dog. I joined a pool on Ravelry and my team is Teresa and Leroy. (Leroy is a Border Collie) Unfortunately I missed this weeks episode, here's for hoping I'm able to catch it next week! Go Teresa and Leroy!

Summer of Yarn Swap Package Arrived!

Quick, stop by this post and enter my contest to win some yarny prizes!!!

My spoiler created a blue and yellow themed package, right down to the individually wrapped presents.  She did a great job!  She included a note explaining all of the contents of my package, and she definitely figured out what I would like!  (I think it helped for her to stalk me through my blog :) haha)
She sent me a book that she frequently refers to, Knitspeak by Andrea Berman Price.  I have been looking at it on Amazon for quite a while.  Also, I got a beautiful box with a bracelet inside!  My package also included a skein of microspun (to add to the single skein in my stash already), two skeins of Louisa Harding Fauve, twizzlers and a multi-colored pen.
Here's a close-up of the Microspun
A closer look at the Fauve (the lighting wasn't great for this lovely yarn, the second pic in this post showed a much truer color)
Thanks go out to my Summer of Yarn spoiler, can't wait to get to know you!

KIP and SP#12 Question 4

Haven't entered yet?  Stop by this post and enter my contest, entries open till July 11th!

Last Sunday's Stitch 'N Pitch KIP action made the local paper... I'm the one all the way to the right NOT paying attention to the photographer ;)
I casted on for a PIC line cover for a local hospital at the game.  (PIC line covers allow kids in the hospital to keep their IV needles in, instead of getting poked with a fresh needle every time they need something by IV)  I even managed to learn how to Magic Loop at the game!  Thanks Christina!

Here's a WIP pic the Baby Genius Burp Cloth that I worked on at the start of the game.  (I'll get one of the PIC line cover soon!)
SP#12 Question 4:
1. What yarn (that you don't have/haven't used) would make your stash "complete?"
Not sure... there's always something else that I want to make on my Ravelry queue that I don't have yarn for yet.
2. What yarn do you never want to be without?
Malabrigo ;)

I just got my first Summer of Yarn Swap package, stay tuned for another post!
